ROSEHILL GARDENS (NSW)
TRACK: GOOD (4) – RAIL: +3m Entire Circuit.

RACE 3 No: 3 IMPERIAL AVIATOR – A really smart first-up run and he looks like he’ll improve with the extra distance and fitness. A few of these are well into their preparation so he could be the fresh horse that really puts them to the sword. Big chance. (SP: $3.80)

RACE 5 No: 6 SEDANZER – Impressive winner fresh when coming from mid-field. Natural improvement in fitness should see the mare cherry ripe for another forward showing. Track remains on the good side will give this a real shake. Winning chance. (SP: $3.20)

RACE 6 No: 4 SAVAPINSKI – Lightly raced mare that led and won the Matriarch easily at her first go at 2000m. Nothing to suggest she won’t do similar here to an inferior field. Stable is airborne and she looks really hard to beat. (SP: $2.20)

***

SANDOWN (VIC)
TRACK: SOFT (7) – RAIL: +8m Entire Circuit.

RACE 4 No: 6 VINLAND – Good maiden win first-up, then jumped straight into a Group II where was competitive. Sure to relish this huge class drop and should be set to peak third-up. (SP: $2.35)

DOOMBEN (QLD)
TRACK: SOFT (7) – RAIL: True Entire Course.

RACE 1 No: 1 MY GUILLANO – Can’t knock the form of this 5yo gelding winning two in a row at Doomben and has multiple wins at the track. Handles all surfaces any the wet track will suit. Hard to beat. (SP: $3.40)

RACE 5 No: 3 PRETTY FAST – Has won three in a row this preparation and can’t see no reason why she can’t make it four on the trot. Thetrainer and jockey combo are deadly. (SP: $2.40)

***

MORPHETTVILLE (SA)
TRACK: GOOD (4) – Rail: +6 metres Entire. Sectional 608m

ASCOT (WA)
TRACK: GOOD (4) – Rail: +6 metres Entire. Sectional 608m

(SP: $4.60 / $1.90) (UNPLACED)

Race 4 – 12:50pm Ronald McDonald House Charities Plate (2800m)
No: 15 SHERLOCK HOLMES – Now that he has won it could be the making of him here in Australia, good tough effort when winning at the Valley carrying a big weight over 2500m. Extra distance suits as he has won twice overseas over(2615m/2816m). Rises in class here but does drop 6.5kg to offset, Corey Brown rides can win again in an open race. (SP: $8.50 / $2.90) (PLACED – 3RD)

Race 5 – 1:25pm Schweppes Flemington Fling (1000m)
No: 9 PARET – Given 6 weeks since Rosehill placing after his very impressive debut win Canterbury. Back in trip suits, Hugh Bowman stays on is a plus. Monitor any betting moves. Very promising Harbour Watch colt. Go close. (SP: $5.50 / $2.15) (UNPLACED)

Race 6 – 2:00pm Lexus Hybrid Plate (1400m)
No: 3 COUNTERPLAY – – Closed off quickly (Caulfield) when ridden quitely from the outside gate. Will sit closer in the run from the good draw and she does gets Moreira onboard. Big show. (SP: $6.00 / $2.25)

Race 7 – 3.00pm Emirates Melbourne Cup (3200m)

TOP SELECTION
No. 7 JOHANNES VERMEER – International galloper given two runs on Australian soil with two super efforts in Group 1 races (2nd Caulfield Stakes) and (3rd Caulfield Cup). Looked to be a touch unlucky in the Caulfield Cup when having a chequered passage in the home straight only making ground up late to run a creditable third. Inside draw a huge plus where the jockey can put him to sleep early and spend no petrol until the business end of the race. Does have a turn of foot what i like in my Melbourne Cup chances and can see the Williams team bring up their sixth cup win. Big threat. (SP: $11.00 / $3.50) (PLACED – 2ND)

DANGER
No. 22 REKINDLING – Comes into the race with arguably the best form of any of the International horses this year. He is lightly raced and has contested some very good European staying races in his short career to date. Looks well treated at the weights with 51.5kg and Corey Brown a plus. One of the better overseas visitors. (SP: $14.00 / $4.00) (WINNER)

BEST ROUGHIE
No. 20 WALL OF FIRE – Love the way that he found the line in the Herbert Power Stakes coming from well back in the field and the form coming out of that race has been strong. The trip isn’t a problem and he is the horse that is weighted to win the race. (SP: $14.00 / $4.00) (UNPLACED)

Race 8 – 4.05pm James Boag’s Premium Stakes (1800m)
No: 13 NOZOMI – Total forgive run in the Cranbourne Cup where he was held up on the point of the turn to get no chance to stake his claim. Go on two previous runs at Caulfield and Flemington when finding one better on each occasion. Back to distance that may suit and has won at the track. Can entertain at the odds on offer. Eachway
(SP: $15.00 / $4.60) (UNPLACED)

Race 9 – 4:45pm MSS Security Sprint (1200m)
No: 6 CALANDA – Total forgive run when fresh at Caulfield when he just got too far back on a day where it was important to be near the speed. First try down the straight and he does have two wins and placing from his five goes at this distance. Watch for him charging home late. (SP: $7.00 / $2.50)

Race 10 – 5:20pm The Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes (1400m)
No: 5 WHITE MOSS – Last start she won the Nivison with ease, beating home some class performers like Dixie Blossoms; since placed in the Myer Classic. Third-up here and she’ll prove awfully hard to beat. (SP: $4.60 / $1.90)
